Microsoft Lync Server 2010’s Archiving Server’s file store folder permissions

As with one of my earlier posts:

Microsoft Lync Server 2010 Enterprise Pool File Share Permissions

http://terenceluk.blogspot.com/2011/01/microsoft-lync-server-2010-enterprise.html

… this post will serve as a reference if I ever need to check to see if a Microsoft Lync Server 2010’s Archiving Server’s file store folder permissions have been changed.

The folder hierarchy for the Archiving server’s file store is only 2 levels deep without counting the top level folder you’ve defined in the topology builder:

Navigating to the file store will show the following folders:

  • 1-ArchivingServer-6
    • DataConf
    • MeetingConf

Note: Ignore the other folders presented as they are for the Enterprise Pool.

These folders are automatically created during the publishing of a Lync topology with a new Archiving Server defined and the security permissions are as follows:

1-ArchivingServer-1 Folder

The permissions listed for the accounts are all inherited from the top level folder.

DataConf

The only account that does not inherit permissions from the parent folder is RTCComponentUniversalSerivces shown in the above screenshot.
